Preservation Technologies –
A World Leader in Collections Preservation.
Preservation Technologies, L.P., facilitates access to and extends the life of our cultural heritage – books, manuscripts, audio and video recordings, and even personal items – for future generations. We approach preservation issues from an engineering and technological perspective; we are experts in chemistry, engineering, and preservation and employ leading research librarians and archivists. Continuously investing in technological advancements, research, and development, we constantly refine our products and technology. We are in the business of developing state-of-the-art preservation solutions for cultural institutions and businesses worldwide.
Preservation Technologies developed the patented Bookkeeper® process, which extends the life of books and manuscripts by neutralizing the acids found in paper. Research chemists created the patented chemical treatment, working hand-in-hand with engineers to refine the process of efficiently and affordably treating large quantities of books. Additionally, engineers analyzed and solved logistical issues to provide an end-to-end solution and secure materials. Today, Bookkeeper is the only deacidification method to meet the standards of the Library of Congress as well as current and projected OSHA, FTC, and EPA consumer and environmental requirements. Institutions worldwide rely on the Bookkeeper technology.
To meet consumer demands, Preservation Technologies also developed Archival Mist®, Paper Bright®, and Clarity™ to preserve paper and philatelic materials.
Established in 1992, Preservation Technologies is headquartered in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. To provide customized solutions for institutions around the globe, we own and operate facilities worldwide.
